A 74-year-old woman with metastatic endometrial cancer was admitted for severe dysphagia for solids and liquids.
The preliminary CT scan showed food impaction in the esophagus without obvious tumor infiltration. Gastroscopy revealed a severe stricture that could only be managed with a pediatric instrument (5.8 mm). It was therefore decided to perform endoscopic palliation with the placement of a SEMS (Taewong Niti-S 8 cm x 24 mm), partially covered, firmly fixed by means of an over-the-scope (OTS) STENTFIX clip.
