73-year-old male referred for liver examination for endoscopic detection of F3 esophageal varices (Li CB CRS- RWM- HCS- DR- E-) but did not present clinical or ultrasound signs of chronic liver disease. However, he reported in his anamnesis (more than 40 years before) a previous endoscopic treatment for reflux disease. In practice, it is the longest follow-up of the Gatekeeper (implantation of hydrogel prosthesis in the submucosa of the esophagus)
